What is the cost of renting housing?
Rental costs vary depending on the locality, the area within the locality, living conditions, and the number of tenants.
What kind of living conditions can I expect?
The Foundation works with schools located in different areas, so living conditions may vary. Participants should be prepared for the possibility of underdeveloped infrastructure in some regions.
When am I expected to start working?
We recommend clarifying this question individually during the interview with the partner school. However, it’s advisable to arrive at least one week before the school year begins (by September 1), taking into account that you've already relocated and secured housing.
Can I choose the region or school? What does it depend on?
The Program assigns participants based on available vacancies at partner schools. Due to limited options, we cannot guarantee specific placements. However, we do our best to accommodate each participant’s preferences when possible.
If my spouse also joins the Program, is it possible to be placed in the same region or school?
We will continue working with partner schools in the Karaganda region next year and will be adding a new region. However, placement is based on the availability of vacancies rather than personal preference. Therefore, your spouse may be assigned to a different region even if both of you pass the selection process. Additionally, the Foundation generally does not support school transfers, as the first year is focused on adapting to a new school environment, and the second year on implementing projects and building a local leadership community.
Is relocation possible for married couples?
Yes, relocation is possible for families. However, please consider your spouse’s and/or children's readiness to relocate. While the Foundation supports the participant and their family as much as possible, no additional financial assistance beyond the standard stipend is provided.
If a candidate successfully passes the selection process, can they work in their home region?
No, successful candidates are assigned to partner schools in the Karaganda and Aktobe regions.
Can I apply if I’m not willing to relocate to a Program region?
No. One of the core requirements of the Program is a willingness to relocate.
Does the Foundation provide housing upon relocation?
No, the Foundation does not provide housing. Participants are responsible for covering their own housing costs using their salary and stipend. However, the Program does offer assistance in finding accommodation.
